Mama is behind in blogging but we celebrated Aunt Mimi's birthday two weeks ago. I had lots of fun playing with the big bubba (Aunt Mimi and Uncle Ryan's dog) and playing my first game of washers! Silly Mama forgot to make me sit still and take a picture with Aunt Mimi so this one from Christmas will have to do. Happy Birthday Aunt Mimi!!

Easter shirt photo shoot
I am a photography enthusiast in progress and learned the lesson this weekend that shooting outside late morning casts too many shadows. Given, it doesn't matter that much when the subjects being photographed are not capable of sitting still, at least not at the same time anyways. Here are some of the shoots of the two of them in matching shirts my mom made them:
And take over! Her poor little face but they went back to sharing right after a hug (too bad there are bags of leaves in the background)...
These are the two pics of them by themselves that I like the best where you can see their shirts. Maybe they'll sit still a little longer this weekend! Hope everyone has a Happy Easter as I probably won't blog before then.
Look who arrived early...
I heard Russell turn off the lawn mower shortly after starting to mow yesterday afternoon and then pounding on the back door (it was locked to keep the boy from escaping). He hollared for me and Cole to come look at something and was assuming we'd see a snake but was pleasantly surprised to see this:The Easter bunny came early and left at least 3 little baby bunnies in our yard! The lawn mower scared them out of their den but they looked like they were all wedged back in their this morning.
Here's a picture of the den. The opening is on the right and there was a least one still in there (was hard to get picture of). No wonder we didn't see it!
Here's a picture of the boy! He was very excited to see real "hop-hops" as he had just seen the Easter Bunny at the mall the day before.

Arteest
That's my fancy way of saying "artist". Now that I have been working in the church nursery and see all the fun artsy things the weekday school makes, I feel like I'm depriving my child of artistic expression. We color and use chalk and have used homemade finger paints but added stickers and paints this week. We bought some safety scissors and a glue stick today and I found some playdoh in the closet that is still good that I bought for a bachelorette party game a few years ago (hehe!), but I draw the line at beads and other little items (even though his age class use them at the day care) because he is constipated enough as it is. Here is our first painting and I'll try to keep updates of our artistic adventures!
Very serious with a paintbrush. He actually said green yesterday which is great considering he normally thinks every color is blue!
Using our fingers too!
I'm blowing this one up. The paint on the forehead and the tongue kills me.
Happy with our finished masterpiece!

Pop-pa Birthday 2011
Cole calls all Grandfathers "buh", not sure why. Once he called Mr. Meier "Pop-pa" and since that is what cousin calls him, we're going with it. I'm very thankful we live near both our families and can celebrate so many special occassions together like this one and we celebrated Uncle Ryan's birthday (no pictures from that though because I was a genius and forgot my camera) this week!
Cole and cousin showing Lady some love
I don't know if you can see "cow" in his hand. Or maybe it's bull. He know the difference and requests the specific one he wants to take wherever we go!
Helping Pop-pa open his gifts
The grandkids with the birthday boy. Maybe I'll get my fancy lens for my birthday so I can take pictures inside without the funky flash glare!
